City of Lost Souls

What a peculiar recipe to our adventure in the City of Lost Souls. Prepare for arbitrary layman philosophy.

Contrasting the search for meaning and happiness of those whose bodies and minds are declining with those who refuse to enjoy any of it or allow the next generation in on the excitement of friendship, freedom and play.  Sometimes I wonder if I belong with the Lost Souls, because I can't see what I'm like from the outside....leeching from all around me in a search for my own soul.

A firm resolution that is renewed with each visit to the City is that there is no time to waste on wasting time.  To me that doesn't mean a mad rush to pack in all the enjoyment possible but more to consider life as a "Trail" crab apple and suck the juice out of each bite....and if you get a worm in your mouth, spit it out or enjoy the protein but don't let it sit there and rot.

Soul Enriching Moments around the City: A frantic dash towards the diesel engine at the children's museum, toddlers gorging in strawberry and raspberry bushes, sharing a 4 generation meal, heaving massive carrots from the earth and lengthy discussions about synaptic pruning while boiling beans....maybe some souls aren't lost.

Also the only thing I have to read here is this freakin' romance novel, so maybe that's just throwing me for a twist.  I wonder why the library is full of this stuff????  Complete Schlock...
